All items banned from Taylor Swift’s Eras show at Murrayfield, including an iconic Scottish item.

Excitement is building ahead of Taylor Swift’s three-show stint at Murrayfield Stadium later this week. The American superstar will jet into Scotland in the next 48 hours as she brings her Eras Tour to the UK.

Tens of thousands of fans will descend on Edinburgh on Friday, June 7, Saturday June 8 and Sunday, June 9 for the concert events of the year. Swift is expected to play almost 50 songs on the night, certainly not leaving fans short changed.

As is always the case with events of this magnitude, a heavy security operation will be in place. Murrayfield bosses say every person attending the gig will be subject to a search and strict bag operation will be in place, with items larger than A4 (30cm x 21cm x 21cm) not allowed unless for medical of childcare needs.

here will be no bag drop facility in operation, so gig-goers are advised to leave them at home if they can. Outside food and drink is banned except for medical or childcare purposes but free water will be available from the bar outlets.

Bags larger than A4 (30cm x 21cm x 21cm) unless for medical or childcare, or the VIP merchandise official tote bags.
Knives, weapons, aerosols, dangerous or hazardous items including any weapons carried as an element of national or religious dress
Foof or alcohol purchased externally unless required for medical purposes
Glass bottles of drinks cans
Hip flasks, metal drinks bottles, thermos flasks or hard-cased refillable water bottles although soft, collapsible reusable water bottles will be permitted into the venue (up to 500ml)
Unsealed soft plastic drink bottles although sealed soft plastic clear bottles up to 500ml will be permitted.
Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or any other kind of pyrotechnic item
Banners or flags with slogans which are offensive, abusive or of a racist, homophobic, political, commercial or discriminatory nature and in any case banners larger than 11 inches by 17 inches
Musical instruments or noise making devices
Air horns, party poppers or silly string
Laser pointers, torches, battery lights or flashlights
Animals other than guide or assistance dogs
Umbrellas of any size
Audio or recording equipment – including professional/commercial cameras, gopros, tablets, laptops, audio recorders, tripods, selfie sticks, drones and power banks larger than a mobile phone. – any personal cameras that do not fit comfortably in your pocket are prohibited.
Any material or article of clothing capable of fully or partially obscuring the face – there are exemptions for medical masks and/or Religious Garments/Wear
Any other items deemed to pose a risk of injury or annoyance to other customers (including but not limited to: clothing that may impede the view of those around you, metal studded jewellery or spurs, Balloons and restraint items)
